I am also battling with a floofy butt cat who loves me...probably to death. I don't know why. He is not my cat. But Sunday morning at 2am, I was awakened by a paw hitting my face. The last 4 days I had been so sick I couldn't even get out of bed or sit up, and the previous afternoon was the first day I could. I opened my eyes, there was floofy butt cat, with a squealing, squirming very frightened mouse in his jaws. He held it about 2 inches from my face. I am ok with most insects and animals, but mice...I was out of bed and yelling so fast. He dropped the mouse on the floor and looked at me. I tried lecturing him about how I did NOT need a mouse, but he was not having any of it. When I went into the bathroom, he followed me and dropped the still alive, still screaming mouse at my feet. He was DETERMINED to give me that mouse, whether I wanted it or not. I appreciate the snetiment, but when you are still recovering from being sick, and have issues with mice that are alive, that is not the gift you want. He has stuck close by my side, purring loudly and randomly bringing me things. His favorites are shrews and mice. Though yesterday it was a snake. I have no idea what to do about it. I can't really get mad at him. I mean, I really do not believe he has malicious intent. It is just...annoying. And not how you want to be awakened at 2am on a Sunday.
