Ugh. This is so hard. So i search the interwebs and found a blog of a woman who makes miniature furniture. Some of her posts are directions on how to make stuff. She didn't really have any chairs I could use, but she did have direction on how to make a mattress. I know it isn't a chair, but I figured I could modify it a bit to make a chair cushion, and around it I could build a chair. Here are my first feeble attempts:
On the right is my first completed cushion, on the left my attempt at a second. The first one was made with a piece of foam board instead of a piece of balsa wood like the one on the left. It is a tad thick, though I think I will still try to make a chair out of it. Just make it a fluffy chair instead of a dining room one. Yes, this is what my sorry ass is doing for New Years. I have been so sick lately going out is a bad idea. And if I end up with workable set pieces I guess it's not a total waste.
I have also discovered the wonder of glue dots. I LOVE these things. They hold pretty good, are easy to apply, and not goopy like regular glue. I now have 13 types of adhesive in my possession. 13. I have 2 types of Gorilla glue, elmer's school glue, wood glue, tacky glue, spray adhesive, putty adhesive, clear adhesive strips, glue dot roller, velcro, crepe art tape, clear fasteners, etc. I suppose I want to be prepared for any type of fastening I may need. :)
